NGA Connect service is addressed to domestic telecommunications Service Providers and concerns the physical and logical connection between the SPs equipment and United Fiber\u2019s broadband network, in order to deliver the data traffic of its end-users.<\/p>\n
The traffic of SP\u2019s end users from one or more DSLAMs\/OLTs that belong in the coverage area of the specific Point of Presence (PoP) is aggregated \u00a0to a \u201clocal circuit\u201d which is delivered via optical fiber to a manhole outside PoP. SP uses its own means between the manhole and its premises, where its equipment has been installed.<\/p>\n
NGA Connect is available only at local level and it\u2019s a prerequisite for the SP to offer retail services through United Fiber\u2019s VLU services. The available speeds range from 1Gbps to 10Gbps with 1Gbps step. The service is available at United Fiber\u2019s PoPs according to the communicated NGA network deployment to SPs and is uploaded in Wholesale System.<\/p>\n
For the provisioning of NGA Connect the relevant agreement should be signed between United Fiber and SP. NGA Connect is provided under the terms and conditions of the Reference Offer for VLU products, which is approved by the Greek NRA (EETT). Furthermore, a Basic Service Level Agreement (SLA) is supported, describing the terms and the conditions under which United Fiber is committed to provide the service and restore any possible faults.<\/p>\n
NGA Connect is provided with logical interconnection (VLANs) on L2\/L3 interface of Ethernet switch (1Gb\/10Gb). The interface of the L2\/L3 Ethernet switch is connected to the optical cable that ends in the manhole using a suitable optical transceiver. Fiber optic connection in the manhole is the demarcation point between United Fiber and SP\u2019s network. The manhole is constructed by United Fiber. SP is responsible to reach the manhole. United Fiber indicates the exact position in the manhole, where SP should lead its Optical Fiber Cable according to United Fiber\u2019s guidelines.<\/p>\n
SP optical fiber cable should consist of a maximum 12 single-mode optical fibers that should be compliant with G.652 ITU specifications. Termination activities at the manhole will be performed by United Fiber\u2019s personnel in a suitable, waterproof, accessible fiber optic splice sleeve, which can be common for more than one SP.<\/p>\n
